Mrs. Halima Abdul-Jaleel

Halima Abdul-Jaleel, M.Ed., is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) whose multifaceted journey through military service, education, and mental health advocacy has shaped her holistic approach to therapy. She earned her Master of Education in Counseling from Texas Southern University, where she specialized in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions.

Drawing from her background in special education and crisis intervention Halima has honed her skills in behavioral modification and emotional regulation – core components of DBT that she now uses to help clients navigate life's challenges. Halima’s work with diverse populations has refined her ability to adapt therapeutic techniques for different learning styles and cultural backgrounds, making complex coping strategies accessible and practical.

I have worked with clients of color from various backgrounds and ages and genders, veterans, children/adolescents with High functioning Autism, anxiety, grief, trauma and ADHD. Adults with low self esteem anxiety, depression, OCD, bipolar, past trauma, cognitive development challenges, career counseling, and grief and loss.
